Brewers, Graffanino avoid arbitration

Graffanino avoids arbitration

The Brewers and Tony Graffanino agreed to a one-year contract on Friday, thus avoiding arbitration. Graffanino was acquired from the Royals on July 26 for left-hander Jorge De La Rosa.

Graffanino hit .280 with two home runs and 27 RBIs in 60 games for the Brewers in 2006. The utility infielder has played for six different Major League teams over the course of his 11-year career.

The Brewers now have three players remaining that are eligible for arbitration -- catcher Johnny Estrada, infielder/outfielder Bill Hall and right-hander Claudio Vargas.
