MILWAUKEE -- Halfway through his stint on the 15-day disabled list for a strained left hamstring, Brewers outfielder Carlos Gomez is ready to get back to work.
Gomez will join Class A Wisconsin on Monday for two days of workouts before beginning a rehabilitation assignment on Wednesday. He expects to play four games for the Timber Rattlers and, barring a setback, should be ready to rejoin the Brewers on the first day he's eligible to come off the DL -- May 20.
"I feel really good," Gomez said. "Throwing is fine, hitting is normal. The only thing to do is run."
He ran the bases at Miller Park on Sunday for the first time since feeling his hamstring grab on May 4 in San Francisco. Gomez said he went at about 70 percent of full speed.
"By 15 days, I'm going to be 100 percent," he said.
