PHILADELPHIA -- Brewers right-hander Shaun Marcum threw what manager Ron Roenicke deemed a "really good" bullpen session on Tuesday at Citizens Bank Park.
It was a step in the right direction toward Marcum's eventual return from the disabled list. He has not pitched since June 14 due to right elbow tightness.
Before the injury, Marcum was 5-3 with a 3.39 ERA in 13 starts.
"He was happy with it," Roenicke said. "I thought the ball came out of his hand great. I thought that was a nice step for him."
