The Brewers signed Minor League free agent Michael Olmsted on Saturday and added the right-handed pitcher to the 40-man roster.
Olmsted pitched in Boston's farm system the past two years. In 2012, he tossed 20 innings for Double-A Portland without allowing an earned run and compiled a 2.29 ERA over 39 1/3 frames for Class A Salem.
The Mets selected Olmsted, 25, in the ninth round of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft. He spent two years pitching for the Mets' Rookie League and Class A teams.
