MILWAUKEE -- The Brewers added right-handed reliever Rob Wooten to Major League Spring Training camp on Friday, bringing to 18 the club's number of non-roster invitees.
Wooten, 27, was a 13th-round Draft pick of the Brewers in 2008 and owns a 2.86 ERA and 58 saves in 172 relief appearances over four professional seasons. He split 2012 between Double-A Huntsville and Triple-A Nashville, with a 3.31 ERA and 15 saves in 57 games, including 40 games at Nashville. It was his first stint with the Brewers' top Minor League affiliate.
The Brewers' 18 non-roster invitees include nine pitchers: right-handers Jairo Asencio, Darren Byrd, Kelvim Escobar, Donovan Hand, Taylor Jungmann, Arcenio Leon and Wooten, and left-handers Jed Bradley and Travis Webb.
Brewers pitchers and catchers officially begin reporting to Maryvale Baseball Park for Spring Training on Feb. 12.
