Statement on the passing of Bill Haig

|

On behalf of the Milwaukee Brewers organization, broadcaster Bob Uecker issued the following statement today on the passing of Bill Haig:

"Bill was really one of the giants in the world of Wisconsin radio. Between the Brewers and WTMJ, everyone knew Bill and respected his contributions to the industry. He was a key member of the Brewers staff for so many years, but more importantly he was a good friend and family man. Our thoughts are with his wife, Naomi, their children, and all of Bill's family. He will be missed."

Haig, whose career in broadcasting began in 1954, served as Vice President - Broadcast Operations for the Brewers from 1980 until his retirement in 1997. He passed away Saturday at the age of 78.
