Meunier named Brewers' Honorary Bat Girl

MILWAUKEE -- Susan Meunier of Oshkosh, Wis., was named the Brewers' winner in the 2013 Honorary Bat Girl contest, which recognizes baseball fans around North America affected by breast cancer.

Meunier, 35, will be recognized in a pregame ceremony on May 26. A wife, mother of three, teacher and daughter of a breast-cancer survivor, Meunier was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in February and has vowed to beat the disease.

She described herself as an avid Brewers fan, with the travel log to prove it. The Meuniers' summer vacations are planned around the Brewers' schedule, including games in San Francisco, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Minneapolis and Atlanta.

The Honorary Bat Girl program was introduced in 2009 to raise additional awareness and support for the annual "Going to Bat Against Breast Cancer" initiative celebrated on Mother's Day.
