MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Brewers will host "Polish Heritage Day" at Miller Park this Sunday, June 23 at 1:10 p.m. when they take on the Atlanta Braves.
The Brewers will wear uniforms with the red and white colors from the Polish flag, and their jerseys will read "Piwowarzy," (pronounced pee-vo-VAHZH-ih) which is "Brewers" in Polish. The jerseys will be white with red accents and blue and gold lettering. "Piwowarzy" jersey t-shirts and jerseys will be available for purchase at the Brewers Team Store by Majestic at Miller Park beginning on Friday.
The game-used jerseys from Sunday's game will be available for sale at the Brewers Authentics kiosk, which is located on the Field Level Concourse along the first base side, starting on Tuesday, June 25. All fans in attendance for Sunday's game will receive a collectible Brewers bobblehead, featuring the Klement's Famous Racing SausageTM Polish, compliments of Klement's Sausage. The Polish Racing Sausage will be featured wearing the "Piwowarzy" jersey.
As part of Sunday's festivities, the Syrena Polish Folk Dance Ensemble will perform near the Miller Park gates and polka music will be played by a live band. In addition, there will be an information table from Polish Heritage Alliance located on the Miller Park Field Level Concourse.
The Brewers have worn special "Cerveceros" uniforms for "Cerveceros Day" in each of the past eight seasons to celebrate Hispanic heritage. In 2011, the Brewers wore "Bierbrauer" uniforms for "German Heritage Day" and last season, the team wore "Birrai" uniforms for "Italian Heritage Day."
