Brewers announce three front office promotions

The Milwaukee Brewers today announced a series of front office promotions, including two appointed to vice president positions.

The promotions include Bob Hallas to vice president - stadium operations, Teddy Werner to vice president - business development and Michael Boettcher to director - grounds, the club announced.

Hallas will enter his eighth season with the club in 2014. He served five seasons as director of stadium operations before being promoted to senior director of stadium operations prior to the 2011 season. In his role, Hallas oversees the building operations for Miller Park as well as field and grounds maintenance and Miller Park's engineering contractor, Johnson Controls. Prior to joining the Brewers, Hallas worked for 20 years in the athletic department of his alma mater - Purdue University - in facility management.

"Bob's efforts are vital to our operation each and every day," said Brewers Executive Vice President - Finance and Administration Bob Quinn. "Miller Park has become a venue that is used year-round and for much more than just baseball. We work to make Miller Park the best in its class as an entertainment and conference facility, and Bob's contributions are key in that process."

Hallas was selected in the 18th round of the 1981 MLB First Year Player Draft by the Seattle Mariners and in the 27th round of the 1982 MLB First Year Player Draft by the Oakland Athletics. He pitched in the Oakland system from 1982 - 85 and also in the Chicago Cubs organization in 1985. A native of Chicago, Hallas resides in Waukesha, Wisconsin with his wife, Kristy, and daughter, Kendall. He also has four sons, Matt, Mitchell, Marshall and Morgan.

Werner will enter his ninth season with the Brewers organization in 2014, having joined the club in April of 2006. He has served as a senior director - business operations for each of the last three years. Werner will oversee the organization's business development efforts, including enhancements to the Miller Park experience and relationships with key vendors. In 2012, Werner was named to the "Forty Under 40" by The Milwaukee Business Journal.

"Teddy's versatility has been an asset to the organization," Brewers Chief Operating Officer Rick Schlesinger said. "The fan experience at Miller Park continues to improve each year and that is a credit to Teddy's leadership and creativity."

Prior to joining the Brewers, Werner worked as a labor and employment associate at Proskauer Rose LLP in New York and in the media relations department of the NFL. Werner is a graduate of Yale University and Duke Law School. A native of Los Angeles, he currently resides in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin with his wife, Karin, and children, Isabel, Andy and Nora.

Boettcher joined the organization in 2009 as a Landscape Manager and has served as the Grounds Manager since 2010.

Boettcher first served as a grounds intern with the Brewers in 2004 while studying at the University of Wisconsin, and also interned with the Boston Red Sox in their Grounds department. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture with an emphasis in Sports Turf and Landscape Management in 2006.

"Michael has been a key contributor in our Grounds Crew for five years and has assumed additional responsibilities as his career has progressed," said Quinn. "His dedication and previous experience will ensure that Miller Park will feature not only one of baseball's best playing surfaces, but also an overall high-quality landscape program in surrounding areas."

Boettcher is a native of Osseo, Wisconsin, and his interest in the profession dates back to his time working on his family's farm. He currently resides in West Allis.
