The Brewers have signed outfielders Jeremy Hermida and Joe Thurston to Minor League deals, the club announced Saturday.
Hermida has not played in the Majors since April 2012 with the Padres. Last year, he appeared in 132 games with the Indians' Triple-A affiliate and hit .247 with 17 home runs. A first-round selection of the Marlins in the 2002 First-Year Player Draft, Hermida will turn 30 on Thursday.
Thurston played in 124 games with the Cardinals in 2009 but has made just one big league appearance since. The 34-year-old spent time last year with Lancaster of the independent Atlantic League and Yucatan of the Mexican League, hitting a combined .297 over 126 games.
