MILWAUKEE -- Left-hander Tom Gorzelanny, recovering from offseason shoulder surgery, began a rehab assignment Wednesday night with Class-A Brevard County, pitching two scoreless innings.

Gorzelanny, who has been on the 15-day disabled list all season, allowed one hit, striking out one and walking one in the Manatees 4-3 loss to Fort Myers.

Gorzelanny was 3-6 with a 3.90 ERA last season in 43 games, including 10 starts.
