MILWAUKEE -- The Rockies lost a challenge in the sixth inning of Thursday night's game against Milwaukee when umpires upheld the ruling that Lyle Overbay beat DJ LeMahieu's throw back to first base, avoiding an inning-ending double play.

Weiss issued the challenge when Rickie Weeks lined out to second baseman LeMahieu for the second out of the inning, with Overbay on first base after a walk. LeMahieu threw to first baseman Justin Morneau as Overbay slid back into the base, and Overbay was ruled safe.

After a review of 2 minutes, 44 seconds, crew chief Dale Scott said that the call stood.

The review turned out to be inconsequential as the next batter, Ryan Braun, flied out to end the inning.
